Did you love Hamilton Island Race Week this year? Didn’t make it? Make sure you get there in 2018.

It’s important to have an adventure to look forward to and it’s never too early to start planning.

Every August, spectators and yachtsman from around the world set sail for the Audi Hamilton Island Race Week – one of Australia’s favourite yachting events.

Why should I go?

Running since 1983, Hamilton Island Race Week has grown to become one of Australia’s largest offshore sailing regattas with an on-water and off-water carnival.

From a racing perspective, participants are split into a grand prix for top-class racers, and an IRC passage class for modern fast-cruising yachts, performance racing and the fastest growing division, multihulls, both racing and cruising.

2017 – That’s a wrap

This year’s race week was a huge success, with many well-deserved victories coupled with beautiful weather and crystal clear waters. Don’t forget to check out the highlights of 2017 here.

We would like to acknowledge and congratulate Hidden Harbour Marina’s Thomas Hoogenbosch who scored a close one-point division win with his Victorian Bavaria 46 Therapy over James Whittle’s Hanse 495 Takani.

“Our crew was the highlight for me, they just melded together so well,” said Hoogenbosch. “My wife will have some say in this of course, but I hope we’ll be back next year to defend our win.”

Well done to everyone from the Hidden Harbour community who took part or attended Hamilton Island Race Week, great effort.

If you couldn’t make it you’ll be able to capture a piece of the excitement with these race day pics, they’ll be sure to fire you up and booking next year’s accommodation already!
